The International Tuberculosis
Foundation (ITF) is a charitable foundation dedicated to controlling
global tuberculosis
and lung disease. It was founded with the assistance of the International
Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUATLD) and the goals
of the two organizations are closely aligned.
It is governed by a board of trustees whose
charge is primarily to raise money for tuberculosis control
internationally. Two members of the North American Region of the
International Union Against Tuberculosis (NAR) and Lung Disease sit on
its board.
Currently ITF administers the Malawi
Child Lung Health program in coordination with the Gates
Foundation and IUATLD, the
travel awards to the NAR meeting and direct giving to IUATLD. It is
approved to apply to USAID for funding and will look toward this for
future projects
